ACE Microcredential: Introductory Design and Technical Skills for Architecture, Construction & Engineering
Are you currently in grade 12 and interested in Architecture, Construction or Engineering?
BCIT’s “ACE” Program will introduce students to the entry level design, technical and communication skills that are highly sought after by today’s top employers in these fields.
While the July 2024 intake of the ACE Certificate is open to students currently enrolled in Grade 12 expecting to graduate in June 2024, as well as recent (i.e. 2023) high school graduates, we are specifically interested in reaching students who would truly benefit from this opportunity. This program is specifically targeted at students who are not considering post-secondary education in the Fall for scholastic or financial reasons, and/or students who are facing other barriers that inhibit their ability to pursue further education. This unique opportunity to access a tuition-sponsored (no cost to student) BCIT Certificate and paid practicum placements in the in-demand ACE sector is intended to support a diverse cohort of students with the attitude and aptitude to make the most of this program.
The ACE Certificate Info Session will be hosted online, March 4, 2024 at 6:30pm. Interested students, parents and educators are welcome to attend. For an application, visit the Career Centre.

What is the Head Start program? The transition from High School to University can be a challenge and some students may have more barriers than others to contend with. In order to support these students, the Head Start program will provide access to a dedicated advisor for their first year of study who will assist the student in navigating their first year at KPU. This might include early connection to support services, a proactive approach in meeting deadlines, and a collaborative approach to setting reasonable goals that fit the student’s unique needs. What is the format? Through a series of individualized sessions that start in June, students will learn about first year transition preparedness, career planning, course planning, registration preparation and academic success skills. Students will also receive a personalized assessment with recommendations and connections to relevant student services to supplement their educational needs. Who can register? Students must have a KPU student number, meet admission requirements, attend a short intake meeting online, and complete HEAD START application form. This program is best suited to students in open-intake studies. Application Deadline: Head Start is a pilot program and is limited to 40 students. It is recommended students apply early to ensure a seat. The deadline for application is May 15, 2024. How do we refer?
