YVR Art Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Aspiring Artist Awards! Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and up to 10 awards will be distributed in 2023 – apply before the end of the year!
Aspiring Artist Awards are for BC and Yukon Indigenous youth between the ages of 15 and 20 who reside in BC or the Yukon. Aspiring Artist Awards are $500 each and are awarded on an annual basis to youth to support their self-directed work in the visual arts through the purchase of supplies, attending workshops and much more. The British Columbia School Superintendents Association will award six regional scholarships to students planning to pursue post-secondary studies. Students wishing to be considered for a scholarship must be currently enrolled in their final year of studies at a public secondary school in British Columbia and expected to graduate in June 2024. One winner will be chosen from each of the six BCSSA provincial chapters (Fraser Valley, Kootenay-Boundary, Metro, Vancouver Island, Northern, Thompson-Okanagan). Each winner will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

The Immediate Entry Bursary is available to any eligible Indigenous student in B.C. who is graduating under the Dogwood Program and who will be transitioning directly to NVIT (Merritt or Vancouver campuses) after high school. The bursary will be awarded in an amount up to $2,896 to be applied to the tuition for the program of choice.
Note: Students must apply and be accepted to NVIT by June 30, 2024, make an appointment with an Academic Planner, and be registered in a minimum 60% course load for each semester of their first year of studies to be considered eligible for the bursary.
